Waiver — Children’s Classes / Workshops / Camp

1) Release of Liability / Assumption of Risk

By enrolling my child in a children’s class, workshop, or camp (the “Program”), I understand that participation in studio and art activities (including but not limited to pottery wheel use, handbuilding, painting, mosaics, and glass fusion) involves inherent risks of injury and property damage. I voluntarily assume all risks of participation, whether known or unknown.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Pottery NYC LLC, its owners, employees, instructors, contractors, and agents (collectively, “Pottery NYC”) from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to my child’s participation in the Program, except to the extent caused by Pottery NYC’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

2) Parent/Guardian Responsibility & Damage to Property

I am responsible for my child’s conduct. I agree to pay for damage to studio property (including but not limited to pottery, tools, wheels, brushes, and materials) caused by my child’s misuse or failure to follow staff instructions, if the item is deemed unusable.

3) Health & Safety

I understand that art materials may be hazardous if ingested. All materials used are non-toxic; however, my child will be instructed not to eat or drink while working.

4) Personal Property

Pottery NYC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

5) Photo / Video Release (Optional)

I grant Pottery NYC permission to use photographs, audio, and/or video taken of my child at the studio for promotional and publicity purposes.

6) Off-Site Outdoor Breaks (If Applicable)

If my child is enrolled in a full-day Program, I give permission for my child to accompany Pottery NYC staff and other attendees to a local playground for outdoor activity breaks, when offered. I understand outdoor breaks are optional and may be modified or cancelled at any time.

7) Cancellations / Refunds / Credits

  • Cancellations more than 7 days prior to the scheduled start date: full refund minus a $25 processing fee.

  • Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the scheduled start date: 50% credit valid for 6 months.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the class start: no refund or credit.

  • Once the Program begins, we cannot offer refunds, credits, transfers, or deferrals.

  • To request a cancellation, email: pnyc786@gmail.com

  • If a Program is cancelled due to weather, public health emergency, or pandemic-related reasons, credit only may be issued.

8) No Make-Ups

Pottery NYC does not provide make-up classes or reimbursements for sessions missed or changed due to illness, COVID-19/pandemics, emergency closures, weather closings, substitute teachers, or other events beyond our control.

9) Acknowledgment

By enrolling online, I confirm that:

  1. I am the child’s parent or legal guardian (or authorized caregiver).

  2. I have read and understand these terms.

  3. I agree to follow studio rules and staff instructions.

  4. I agree to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of myself and my child.
