4-week Sampler Class

$325.00

Curious about pottery but not ready to commit to an eight‑week course? Or maybe you took our one day class but wished you could keep all your pieces and glaze them yourself? This four‑week series is the perfect way to try the potter’s wheel without a long‑term commitment.

Meets every Tuesday night from 6:30-9:30pm on December 2, 9, 16, and 23.

Designed for complete beginners, this course lets you experience every step of the process—from throwing on the wheel to finishing, decorating, and glazing your own pieces. No prior experience is required.

What to Expect Each Week

Week 1 – Wheel Throwing Basics
You’ll start with an introduction to the potter’s wheel and learn how to make simple forms. Your instructor will demonstrate the basics, then guide you as you try it yourself. You’ll have time to practice and keep trying until you create a piece you’re happy with.

Week 2 – Building Skill & Making More Pieces
Put your new muscle memory to work. In this session, you’ll continue throwing on the wheel, making additional pieces and experimenting with new shapes and sizes as you gain confidence.

Week 3 – Trimming, Handles & Carving
This week is all about refinement and personalization. You’ll smooth and contour the pieces you created, add handles (for mugs), and carve into the surface to make each piece uniquely your own.

Week 4 – Glazing & Color
In the final class, you’ll learn how to glaze your work—decorating and adding color by painting on a liquid glass suspension. You’ll have access to various colors and surfaces, with both dipping and brush‑on painting options available.

What You’ll Take Home

The pieces you create will be fired after the course and ready for pickup approximately one week after the last class. Finished works are held for three weeks. Pickup is at our Zerimar Clay location.

Please note: Works must be picked up within three weeks from the final class.

Who This Class Is For

This course is ideal if you:

- Want to experience the entire process from start to finish
- Prefer a shorter commitment than an eight‑week class
- Are looking for a relaxing, hands‑on hobby
- Want to keep all the works you make (one day class only keeps one)

You won’t become an expert in four weeks, but you will experience every stage of the process and leave with your own handmade ceramic pieces. Works are not guaranteed. Please note that if you make more than 4-5 pieces it may be difficult the finish them all in one session.

Class Requirements & Policies

Because we hold the seat for you, reschedules must be don’t with at least 24 hours notice, all refunds are subject to a $20 service fee.
