Pottery Summer camp 2026
Welcome to the most comprehensive ceramics experience ever.
Spend one unforgettable week diving deep into clay with a jam-packed program designed for curious, creative kids.
What we’ll explore
Across the week, campers will get hands-on with a wide range of techniques and processes, including:
Wheel throwing
Handbuilding
Nerikomi and neriage
Slip casting
Horsehair raku
Glass melting
Glazing and decorating
Clay processing, recycling, and material-making
Campers will also explore forms like cups, bowls, plates, and bottles — plus plenty of room for experimentation.
Projects + free-make + fun
This is a high-energy, creativity-first camp with:
Guided projects
Free-make studio time
Games
Field trips / neighborhood adventures
Real educational learning (terms like wedge and materials like alumina)
Locations (and a studio pup)
Our main studio (Where pickup and drop off is) is at 786 9th Avenue, and we’ll also take short trips to Ceramics on 10th, Zerimar Clay, and DeWitt Clinton Park.
And yes — there’s a beloved studio pup: an Aussie who’s wonderful with children of all ages.
Schedule + staffing
Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Three instructors present throughout the day
Early drop-off (8:30am) and late pick-up (6pm) options available
Please send kids to camp with snacks, a water bottle, and packed lunch plus a towel for sitting at the park.
Pick-up timeline for finished work
Some pieces may be ready as soon as the next day, but many items will be ready for pick-up about one week after camp ends.
Finished work is held for a maximum of three weeks from the last day of camp.
